22 Years of UIL Sweepstakes!

Way to go Pirate Bands! The Honors Band received straight ones at UIL marking the 22 consecutive years of sweepstakes bands here at Poteet High School. The Symphonic Band also earned the sweepstakes award, receiving straight ones from all judges, and the Concert Band received straight ones on stage. GREAT JOB PIRATE BAND!

Way To Go Pirate Band!

The Pirate Band defended their back to back state titles with great honor and poise on Tuesday at the UIL Texas State Marching Championship taking home the Bronze Medal, 3rd overall. The "Sea of Green" was in full force and helped cheer the Pirate Band on to another great finish at state marching contest! Pirate Band, You Truly Are CHAMPIONS!

Plano East Marching Invitational!

The Pirate Band traveled to Plano this weekend to compete in the Plano East Marching Invitational. For the 19th straight year, the Pirate Band was the Best In Class from the 4A division including captions: Outstanding General Effect, Winds, Marching, and Drum Major. After a great finals performance the Pirate Band finished with Outstanding Visual Performance and 2nd overall!

Exemplary High School Band Award!

The Pirate Band has been awarded by the Texas Bandmasters Association the 2009 Exemplary High School Band Award. This award is presented to one high school every year that has had a consistent exemplary performing band program in Texas for an extended period of time.

Sudler Flag of Honor

The Pirate Band has been chosen as the recipient of this year's Sudler Flag of Honor! This is an incredible accomplishment that recognizes high school concert bands with great achievement over a period of several years. The John Philip Sousa Foundation executive committee reviews entries from around the world and selects programs that exhibit high standards of excellence in concert activities. Way to go Pirate Band!
